2017 Continuing Education Information: CEU applications/submissions are currently pending. The actual CEUs/credits that can be earned will be determined by presentation submissions, CE provider approval and the sessions participants attend. Questions: contact tatn@esc4.net, 713-744-6559.

The conference is supported by the Texas Education Agency, Texas Assistive Technology Network (TATN), and Region 4 ESC. Session and materials costs are partially funded through state or federal grants.

Disclosures

  • Sign in for the conference AND at the CE table EACH DAY of the conference.
  • Obtain a CE Log and an ASHA Participant form from the CE Desk.
  • Keep track of sessions attended on CE log.
  • Complete ASHA Participant Form  (including ASHA number if utilizing the ASHA CE Registry). If you are not a registry user, complete the form but do not fill out the ASHA member number.
  • Return duplicate copy of CE Log and ASHA Participant Form to CE desk before leaving conference.
  • Keep your copy of the CE Log and the program for your records.

AAC Institute has been reviewed and approved as an Authorized Provider by International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), 1620 I Street, NW, Suite 615, Washington, DC 20006.

 

Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA) Assistive Technology Profesionals (ATP; RESNA accepts IACET CEUs for maintenance of the ATP credential),  and Speech Language Pathologists and Assistants, Occupational Therapists and Assistants.

 

The AAC Institute is providing IACET CEUs. The AAC Institute is an approved Authorized Provider of the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET).

 

AAC Institute maintains the required records relative to third party substantiation of activity participation.  IACET CEUs may be useful for others as well for meeting the requirements for licensure and credential maintenance.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

1)  Keep track of sessions you attend in full by marking them in your program.

2)  When you return from TATN register for CEUs by visiting www.aacinstitute.org/CEUs.

Follow the instructions provided there.  You will be asked to download the session attendance report form, indicate those sessions attended, and return the form as an email attachment.  A sample form can be viewed at the AAC Institute area in the conference registration area.  Your saved file will serve as your record.

You also will be asked to download, complete and return the Evaluation and Learning Assessment Form.  After all forms are received and processed, you will receive a certificate by email.

Occupational therapists and assistants may earn Type 1 or Type 2 continuing education credits. It is the therapistís responsibility to determine if course content is appropriate for Type 1 or Type 2 CEUs based on their practice.

Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation & Education Professionals (ACVREP)

Teachers of Students with Visual Impairments, Orientation and Mobility Specialists

 
Continuing Education (CE) hours Up to 7 CE Hours
  • Sign in for the conference EACH DAY of the conference.
  • On the first day of the conference, acquire an ACVREP packet from the CE Desk.
  • Select and attend any sessions. All sessions are approved for ACVREP CE hours.
  • Arrive at the presentation room before each session begins. Stay for the entire session.
  • At the end of the session, ask the room facilitator/monitor to sign his/her name on your ACVREP Credits Tally Form.
  • At the end of the conference, enter the total number of CE hours earned onto the Tally Form and Certificate of Completion. Bring the white copy of the Tally Form and Certificate to the CE Desk. Keep the duplicate copy of the Tally Form for your record.
  • CEhours earned will be checked by the CE Desk monitor on the Tally Form and Certificate of Completion.

Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners

Region 4 is an approved provider by the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC). One credit hour will be given for each hour of participation in a continuing education program related to or enhance the practice of occupational therapy.

Licensed Social Workers (LSW) clock hours Up to 12 Clock Hours Region 4 is an approved provider by the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners of Continuing Education. One credit hour will be given for each hour of participation in a continuing education program related to or enhance the practice of social work and are offered by a board-approved provider.
